Print Mounting Instructions

Double sided tapes

ATG tape or Scor-Tape

Double sided tape is probably the easiest and least expensive method for mounting prints. The tape can be used to adhere your print to mat board.  It can also be used to adhere a backing board to your window mat.

Scor-Tape is easy to use. Just lay a strip on each edge of your print, as near to the edge as possible to keep the print from raising at the edges, then peel off the liner paper and place the print on the mounting board. ATG tape can be used the same way but it is easier to apply with an ATG "gun-type" applicator.

These tapes come in widths from 1/4" to 2" and can be found at craft stores, such as Michael's, or online at web stores such as www.scrapbookpal.com

These tapes are very strong.  You may not be able to remove your print from the board without damage. However, you may be able to separate two pieces of mat board for reuse later.

Spray adhesives

3M Photo Mount or Scotch Photo Mount

Spray adhesives work well but are not easy to use.  They really should be used outside due to the smell.  The adhesive is sprayed to the back of the print and then the print is applied to the mounting board. Care must be taken when picking up the print.  The adhesive will get on your fingers and then you need to be sure that isn't transferred to the front of the print.

This process can also be used to a adhere a backing board to your window mat.

These adhesives can be found at craft stores, such as Michael's, or online.
